Terms of service

These terms govern your use of nimbuslicensing.com and anything you buy from it. Placing an order means you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable — if something here is unclear, email us and we will explain it in plain words.

Who we are

Nimbus Licensing sells genuine Microsoft software licenses, delivered by email. We are an independent reseller. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft, Microsoft 365, Office, Windows and Windows Server are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.

Where we sell

We sell to customers in the United States only. We do not ship or deliver outside the US, and we cannot support licenses bought for use in another region.

What you are actually buying

You are buying a license key — the right to use Microsoft software under Microsoft's own terms. You are not buying the software itself, and you are not buying anything from us that overrides Microsoft's licensing.

Your use of the software is governed by the Microsoft licensing terms that come with it. We cannot change those terms, waive them, or grant you rights Microsoft does not. If Microsoft's terms and ours ever appear to conflict about how you may use the software, Microsoft's terms control.

Every listing states the edition, the term, and the number of people or devices covered. Read it before you buy — an Office key that installs on one machine will not cover five, and no support conversation can change that after the fact.

Orders and pricing

An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send you the key. Until then we may decline or cancel an order and refund you in full — for example if an item is out of stock, if a price was listed in error, or if an order looks fraudulent.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax, which is calculated at checkout. We may change prices at any time, but never after you have paid.

Payment is processed by Shopify. We never see or store your card details.

Delivery

Keys are delivered by email to the address on your order, within one business day and usually much sooner. Every key is checked against its order by a person before it is sent, so delivery is not instant.

Check your email address at checkout. A key sent to a mistyped address cannot be recalled. If your key has not arrived by the end of the next business day, check spam and promotions first, then email us with your order number.

Nothing is shipped. There is no physical product and no delivery address.

Redeeming your key

Once a key is redeemed against a Microsoft account, the license is permanently bound to that account. It cannot be transferred back to us, resold, or moved to a different account. This is Microsoft's rule, not ours, and we cannot make an exception to it.

Because of this, please make sure you are redeeming the right license against the right account. If you are unsure, ask us before you redeem — that conversation costs nothing and an unredeemed key can still be returned.

Refunds and returns

Our refund policy forms part of these terms. In short: unredeemed keys can be returned within 30 days for a full refund; keys that will not activate are replaced or refunded regardless of the 30-day window; redeemed keys are refundable only if faulty.

Using this site

Do not use this site to commit fraud, to buy with a payment method that is not yours, to resell keys in a way that breaches Microsoft's terms, or to attack, scrape or disrupt the site. We may cancel orders and refuse service where we reasonably believe any of this is happening.

The text, design and images on this site belong to Nimbus Licensing. You are welcome to read, print and share them. You may not copy them wholesale for a competing storefront.

Support, and what we do not promise

Activation support is included with every license and we will make a genuine effort to get your key working. What we cannot promise is that Microsoft's services, activation servers or account systems will be available or behave as expected — those are not ours to control.

The site and its content are provided as they are. To the fullest extent US law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

If something goes wrong with a license you bought from us, our responsibility is to replace it or refund it. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to what you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost data, lost business, or downtime.

This limit does not apply to anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud or willful misconduct on our part.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Indian River County, Florida, and both of us consent to that.

Nothing here takes away any right you have under the consumer law of your own state. Where your state gives you more than these terms do, your state's law applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top tells you when this version took effect.
